The Core Curriculum on Childhood Trauma (CCCT) in Clinical Supervision

The Core Curriculum on Childhood Trauma teaches about the complex impacts of traumatic stress on children and their families. It is specifically designed to strengthen a broad range of trauma-related competencies for practitioners who work with trauma-exposed youth, families, and communities. This professional learning is not expected to end once the CCCT training concludes. Instead, we encourage individuals trained in the CCCT to continue using the CCCT framework and tools to promote continued learning and skill development during ongoing supervision.

For supervisors and supervisees who have both received training in the CCCT, there are several ways to bring the CCCT and problem-based learning (PBL) frameworks into supervision. The CCCT Supervision Toolkit offers a number of structured activities that can be used during supervision to support ongoing learning and improvement of trauma-related competencies.
